Bio

Honourable Michael Myles was elected as the Member of Parliament for Prospect in April 2025 and sworn in as Minister for Caymanian Employment and Immigration the following month. He brings to public office over 35 years of experience in youth development, social services, and community leadership.

His career in public service began as a Social Work Intern with the Department of Social Services. He went on to serve in key roles including Team Leader at the Cayman Islands Marine Institute, House Manager at Bonaventure Boys Home, and At-Risk Youth Coordinator within the Ministry of Education. He played a leading role in the development of impactful initiatives such as the Behaviour and Education Support Teams, the Extended After School Programme, and Youth ACT, collectively benefitting more than 4,000 young people across the Islands.

In 2019, Minister Myles founded Inspire Cayman Training Ltd., an accredited institution dedicated to technical and vocational education. Under his leadership, the organisation has trained more than 800 Caymanians, equipping them with essential skills for employment and career advancement.

Minister Myles holds a Bachelor of Arts in Human Services from Lindsey Wilson College, where he studied on a four-year football scholarship. A former national footballer from the age of 10, he attributes much of his leadership and discipline to his athletic background.

He remains committed to serving the Cayman Islands with integrity, accountability, and a deep dedication to empowering its people.
