"Job Title: Line Cook Job Description: Position Overview: As a Line Cook, you will be an integral part of our kitchen team, responsible for preparing and cooking food to meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and quality. Working under the direction of the head chef or sous chef, you will play a key role in executing menu items efficiently and consistently during service hours. Key Responsibilities: Food Preparation and Cooking: Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, portion sizes, and quality standards set by the culinary management team. Work on a specific station or stations along the kitchen's cooking line, such as grill, sauteĢ, fry, or pantry, to ensure timely preparation of food orders. Follow proper cooking techniques, temperatures, and cooking times to achieve desired flavors, textures, and doneness levels. Station Setup and Organization: Set up and stock your assigned station(s) with necessary ingredients, utensils, and equipment before service begins. Maintain a clean and organized workstation throughout service, including keeping cooking surfaces, tools, and equipment sanitized and free of debris. Communicate effectively with other line cooks and kitchen staff to coordinate workflow and ensure smooth operation during busy periods. Quality Control and Presentation: Monitor food quality and presentation at your station(s), making adjustments as needed to ensure consistency and adherence to culinary standards. Plate and garnish dishes according to established plating guidelines, paying attention to detail and aesthetics. Assist in conducting quality control checks on ingredients, finished dishes, and storage practices to maintain freshness and safety. Collaboration and Communication: Work collaboratively with other members of the kitchen team, including chefs, sous chefs, and prep cooks, to coordinate preparation and service activities. Communicate effectively with servers and expediter to ensure accurate and timely fulfillment of customer orders. Provide support and assistance to teammates as needed, demonstrating a team-oriented approach to achieving common goals. Cleanliness and Safety: Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of food products. Maintain cleanliness and organization in all areas of the kitchen, including equipment, storage areas, and walk-in coolers/freezers. Report any maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, or safety hazards to kitchen management promptly. Qualifications: Previous experience as a line cook or in a similar culinary role is preferred.
