"The Captain will report to the Chief Pilot at Cayman Airways Express Ltd. The Captain is appointed to the command of an aircraft for a flight or a series of flights. He/she is in sole charge of that aircraft and is responsible for the safety of the aircraft, its passengers and crew. The responsibility gives the Captain complete authority to take overriding and final decisions regarding any aspect of an operation which, in his opinion affects his duty to conform to accepted safety standards Summary of key responsibilities:  Must ensure the safety and security of all crew members, passengers and cargo on board the aircraft when the doors are closed  Maintain familiarity with relevant Regulatory requirements and applicable aviation practices and procedures  Maintain familiarity and operational knowledge of the Company Operations Manuals as necessary to ensure compliance with procedures  Captain is responsible for reporting any act of unlawful interference to the Governor and to the designated local authority  Ensuring all required documents, certificates and approvals are valid prior to the start of a flight and will remain valid for the duration of the flight  Provide supervision and assistance with training of junior crew as required  Post holder ensures that crew members follow procedures for the evaluation of, and dealing with travelers with a suspected communicable disease, based on the presence of a fever and certain other signs or symptoms  The Captain is also responsible for the discipline, behavior and appearance of his/her crew while on duty and when away from base.  Captain ensures that flight is not commenced, or if en-route, is not continued, if flight crew member’s capacity to perform functions is impaired;  Post holder will notify the Base Operations of any delays or deviations from the planned route;  In the event of a delayed departure due to weather or technical reasons, the post holder will keep the passengers as fully informed as possible  When away from Base, Captain will act as a Senior Official of the Company and assume, as necessary, such responsibilities as might reasonably be expected of such an official.  When required in the course of Off Line Operations, Captain is responsible for the handling of ‘Ship’s Funds’ and the rendering of a flight’s expense account at the completion of such flight.  Post holder will also submit any Discretionary or Violation Reports to the Chief Pilot for onward clearance to the Civil Aviation Authority  Regardless of any restrictions, the Captain/Commander is hereby authorized to vary limitations should he consider such action necessary in the interests of safety.  When a Commander exercises his prerogative to operate outside published regulations, he shall make a Written Report to the Chief Pilot stating his reasons for the variation.  The Captain may delegate portions of these duties as outlined in the appropriate sections of the Operations Manual and Check Lists but he is responsible for ensuring all checklists are complied with. The delegation of authority to perform an assigned duty does not relieve the Captain of the responsibility for the proper completion of the duty.  Any other duties as required to ensure the safety and efficiency of the flight "
