This individual is responsible for planning, scheduling, assigning, participating in, and inspecting the work of electricians, wiremen, and trades helpers. Work includes the design and construction of distribution system apparatus and fixtures, and the preparation of specifications and estimates for construction, repair, and installation projects. All projects are to be inspected upon completion for conformance with specifications and satisfactory operation by the end-users of the equipment. • Plans, assigns, schedules, and supervises the work of electricians, wiremen, and helpers engaged in the construction, installation, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems, fixtures, apparatus, and appliances. The Electrical Foreman is expected to participate in the installation process of the work. • Demonstrates professionalism in their personal appearance and in communication with colleagues, clients, and the public. • Leads and maintains a professional standard including enforcing uniform policy, tool policy, and vehicle policy with all subordinates. • Performs site assessments, creates site layout, and creates and submits completion and deficiency reports. • Trains and instructs subordinates on detailed procedures. • Conducts periodic inspections and gives on-site supervision over hazardous or unusual work assignments; assures availability of equipment, materials, and supplies. • Estimates the time and material required for projected jobs; keeps job records and submits completion and deficiency reports; initiates requisitions for supplies, tools, and equipment. • Enforces safety regulations, rules, and working conditions: o Taking charge when someone is injured or falls ill, including calling an ambulance if required and reporting such occurrences to superiors. • Maintaining the stock and readiness of First Aid & CPR equipment and supplies. • Immediately report any property damage resulting from installation procedures or by the acts of oneself or subordinates. • Maintains a personal complement of tools to meet the minimum Solar Installer’s tool requirement as outlined. • Trains personnel in the safe operation of equipment and tools.
