Position Overview: The Senior Estimator at Quants & Quotes Ltd will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and detailed cost estimates for various construction projects. This role involves leading estimating activities, analyzing project requirements, coordinating with clients and project teams, and ensuring the delivery of competitive and comprehensive estimates. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction estimation, excellent analytical skills, and a thorough understanding of construction processes. Key Responsibilities: • Review project drawings, specifications, and related documents to understand project requirements and scope. • Develop construction schedule. • Quantify materials, labour, and equipment necessary for project execution. • Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for residential and commercial projects. • Analyze historical data and current market conditions to develop cost benchmarks and validate estimates. • Perform cost comparisons and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. • Collaborate with clients to clarify project needs, expectations, and specifications. • Present and explain estimates to clients, addressing any questions or concerns. • Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals in response to client requests. • Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain pricing and verify scope coverage. • Work closely with project managers, architects, and engineers to ensure estimates align with project plans and goals. • Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs and performance. • Continuously improve estimating processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency. • Stay updated with industry trends, best practices, and advancements in construction estimation. Qualifications: • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil or Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of multi-disciplinary experience in construction, out of which 3 years in construction procurement and project management, plus 4 years in quantity take-off and cost estimation, with a proven track record of estimating for diverse construction projects. • Skills: o Proficiency in estimating and scheduling software and tools such as PlanSwift, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project or similar. o Strong analytical and mathematical skills. o Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team coordination. o Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates. o Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
