The Westin Grand Cayman Seven Mile Beach Resort and Spa are inviting applications from Qualified Caymanians, Status Holders, or Permanent Residence with the rights to work for the position of: Food & Beverage Server • The successful applicant will take orders for and serve all food and beverage requests, using suggestive selling techniques. Clear tables during service. Control guest checks and secure proper payment. • Ensure station and table set-ups are complete and perform various side duties as assigned by the Outlet Supervisor • Maintain proper condition and cleanliness of dining areas and servicing equipment. • Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written. • High school or equivalent education required. Hospitality degree preferred. • Two years experience as food server in full service restaurant is required. Customer service experience preferred • Must possess strong computer skills including micros P.O.S. • Knowledge of the appropriate table settings and service ware. • Ability to describe all menu items, prices and methods of preparation. And to use suggestive selling techniques to encourage the guests to choose items that are house specialties. • Strong knowledge of hotel food and beverage operations. • Strong knowledge of food and alcoholic beverages • Perform general cleaning tasks utilizing cleaning products to adhere to health and safety standards • Knowledge of local laws, ordinances and regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated patrons. • CARE certification Pay rate is $4.00 per hour plus a share of the gratuity pool The above positions requires working a flexible schedule of day and/or evening shifts including weekends and public holidays and on call at all times. The applicant must meet the minimum requirements and must be able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language “English” used in the workplace.
