Purpose of the role Working within Ogier's Global Risk & Compliance Team, you will work with and report to the Head of Caribbean and Asia Compliance. You will support the wider Team to help ensure that Ogier Group employees abide by their regulatory obligations and conform to industry best practices and professional standards. You will be expected to meet relevant targets and deadlines set by the relevant Board(s). Key Responsibilities • Assist the Head of Caribbean and Asia Compliance with the day-to-day running of the Caribbean and Asia Compliance function; • Ensure AML procedures are maintained with the company regarding all relevant laws, regulations and guidance issued by the relevant Regulator(s) in the Cayman Islands, British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong and other jurisdictions as required; • Assist in the implementation and maintenance of jurisdictional policies, procedures, and processes; • Remain current with regulatory issues relevant to Ogier, and be able to identify potential threats of non-compliance and take measures to alleviate them; • Assist to communicate compliance-related issues to staff across all divisions of the organization; • Assist to provide regular recommendations for training, retraining for maintaining a high level of compliance; • Identify, assess, monitor, manage and mitigate money laundering and financing of terrorism risks; • Periodically assist with the testing of internal policies as part of the Compliance Monitoring Program; • Ensure the Risk and Compliance manual(s) accurately reflects local regulatory requirements together with the other policies and procedures contained within them. Assist with the delivery of appropriate training to all partners, directors and staff; • Be a point of contact for Compliance queries from partners, directors and staff; • Assist with Gap Analyses of legal and regulatory changes in the relevant jurisdiction as directed by the Head of Caribbean and Asia Compliance; • Assist Risk Team to ensure jurisdictional Business Risk Assessments, AML Risk Assessment and the Business Continuity Plan are current and updated as and when required; • Assist with managing relationships with the relevant Regulator; • Assist with preparing monthly and quarterly risk and compliance reports to the relevant Board(s). • Assist with complaints, breaches, errors and PI reporting and review process; • Assist with Risk and Compliance Team projects as and when required whilst balancing support on complex jurisdictional cases raised to Compliance; • Lead effective business testing of Compliance-linked requirements, ensuring effective controls are in place to drive business alignment to regulatory standards; and • Contribute towards the business and Risk and Compliance Team in identifying process improvements, potential gaps / improvements with the Policies and Procedures and other service innovation changes that would improve the client experience. Qualifications and Experience • A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a compliance function; • Holding a relevant compliance related qualification such as ACAMS, CAMS, ICA; • Previous experience of acting in the capacity of Deputy MLRO and AMLCO and perform required duties required by local jurisdictional legislation and regulations which may include preparing and submitting filings via online platforms; • Solid knowledge of Cayman Islands regulatory requirements affecting a legal and fiduciary businesses in multiple jurisdictions; • Act as the liaison with the local regulator and Financial Reporting Authority; • Maintain awareness with current money laundering trends and typographies and provide/assist with relevant training where necessary; • Ability to make decisions and use initiative within the scope of regulatory requirements, policies and procedures with strong attention to detail and an inquisitive nature; • Maintain Suspicious Activity Reports log as required; • Excellent stakeholder management skills with effective interpersonal and communication skills; • Ability to build positive relationships across the business whilst working effectively as part of a team.
