Camana Bay Aquatic Club (CBAC) is looking for an enthusiastic coach to help drive our program to even greater levels of success. With over 400 participants, CBAC is Cayman’s largest aquatics organization, providing a wide variety of programming including Competitive, Swim School, Masters, and Artistic Swimming. CBAC athletes regularly represent Cayman at international competitions such as CARIFTA, Island Games, and CCCAN, with our highest level representatives attending Commonwealth Games, the Olympics, and winning a World Championship gold medal. The preferred candidate is proactive, organized, communicates effectively, and is willing to learn and collaborate within a team environment. They will have experience coaching a wide range of ages and abilities, and be comfortable leading groups of young swimmers on their own. Ideally, the candidate will be someone that comes with a strong technical background, is able to demonstrate initiative, and proactively contribute to the success or our swimming community. Roles & Responsibilities: ● On Deck Coaching: split between assigned developmental training groups, assisting with Swim School, and supporting the Senior Programs. Schedule may include morning sessions, as well as afternoons and weekends. ● Administrative Tasks: as needed for leading training groups and supporting the club’s progress (lesson and season planning, meet entries, attendance and results, communicating regularly with membership, social media, weekly reporting to Head Coach, etc. ● Swim Meets, Team Events and Camps as required. ● Other community focussed programs where space, time, and resources allow. Qualifications / Experience Required: ● ASCA Level 1 or equivalent education ● 5+ years of competitive coaching experience (or extensive experience participating in competitive swimming) ● Experience working with both Learn to Swim and Competitive athletes. ● First Aid & CPR certificate, or the ability to get prior to employment ● Valid or Current Lifeguarding certificate ● Police Clearance (background check) or ability to get prior to employment ● Passion and enthusiasm for swimming and youth mentorship ● References from prior coaching positions Reporting to: Director of Swimming Salary: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position has the ability to be expanded both competitively and financially for the right candidate. (KYD$20,000 to 30,000 per year).
