The position will involve the management, coordination and delivery of the firm’s Restructuring plus Funds & Asset Management services in both the Cayman Islands and abroad, in addition to local managerial oversight of the Cayman Islands Office. The position will also be charged with sourcing and securing new work in addition to developing local and overseas business relationships. The Restructuring plus Funds & Asset Management practices aim to provide effective solutions to its clients. Our clients include major banks, asset-based lenders, private equity houses, accountants, solicitors, financial sponsors, lenders, creditors, corporates and individuals. We are tasked with assuming direct responsibility for organizations in distressed situations across virtually every industry and every situation. Responsibilities: • Leading and directing engagements such as financial and operational restructuring, official liquidation, voluntary liquidation, receivership, bankruptcy, valuation and forensic accounting investigation assignments. • Leading and delivering litigation support and expert witness assignments relating to breach of contract, financial valuations, accounting treatment disputes, loss of profits, fraud and accounting irregularities and transaction disputes, including advising clients on the litigation process. • Providing advisory and discretionary asset management services for illiquid or distressed investments, including divestments, rationalising management cost structures, restructuring of single investments or portfolio realisations. • Driving the growth of the restructuring service offering in both the Cayman Islands and abroad, developing, and cultivating lawyer relationships as well as implementing the related business development activities. • Delivering exceptionally high-quality reports and client service. • Supervising and training members of the team, including quality control. • Working knowledge of relevant regulatory and legislative frameworks. • Working in a dynamic organisation across geographies. Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field. • Holders of CA/ CPA (or equivalent) qualifications. • Insolvency and restructuring qualification. • Qualified to take liquidation appointments in the Cayman Islands, with a proven track record. • Minimum of 15 years’ relevant work experience, including insolvency, restructuring and associated investigations. • Experience in preparing insolvency and expert witness reports for court use. • Strong network with Law Firms or relevant professionals. • Highly motivated with a good business sense and commercial acumen. • Strong financial, business analytical and report writing skills. • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken) in English.
