Important Changes to WORC Services

Grand Cayman, 27 May 2024 – In an effort to better service customers, Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) will be going through a transition period and changes in services will occur.

Effective 11:59 pm on Wednesday, 29 May, the current JobsCayman portal will no longer be available. This includes payments, job seeker registration, employer registration, posting job ads, and applying for jobs.

Effective, Monday 3 June, the Customer Care services will relocate to Artemis House. Customers will be able to access the same services that were offered at Apollo House West such as:

  • Payments
  • Submission of Applications
  • Passport Endorsement Stamps

Customers can park at the Apollo House West parking lot and follow the signs to Artemis House.  All other WORC services remain at Apollo House West which include the Employment Services and Training & Development Unit for Caymanians seeking employment or training.

WORC Online Services & Temporary Payment Arrangements

As the existing JobsCayman online portal goes offline,  a site offering reduced online services will be available on 3 June. This site is temporary and will allow the final developing and testing of the new WORC Jobs & Online Payment  Services which is anticipated to launch on 18 June 2024.

The temporary site will have the following key functionalities:

  • Employers can continue to post job advertisements on worc.ky, and
  • Job-seekers can still search and apply for jobs on worc.ky.

However, payments must be made in-person. Customers submitting three (3) or more applications are encouraged to utilize the corporate drop bag to reduce wait times. Customer Care Officers will be on hand to review documents and ensure drop off is handled as efficiently as possible.

Passport Endorsement Stamps for Immediate Travel

WORC requests that during this time of transition only persons with immediate travel plans who want to secure a passport endorsement stamp to do so within ten (10) days before travelling. This measure will assist WORC in managing the high demand of this service as the summer approaches and persons travel plans increase. Persons are also reminded that a valid permit license can also be used as a travel document.

WORC appreciates your understanding and cooperation as these changes commence to enhance our service delivery. The office number remains the same at 945-9672, toll free 1-800-534-9672 or email WORC@gov.ky. For further updates on these changes visit worc.ky or follow on Facebook and Instagram.

WORC Hosts Successful District Days Across Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands, 9 April 2025 – The Workforce Opportunities and Residency Cayman (WORC) recently concluded its ‘District Days’ initiative, held across five (5) districts from 17 to 25 March 2025. The event served as a vital platform for community engagement; connecting Caymanian job seekers with employment opportunities and critical workforce development resources.

This annual event aims to connect Caymanian job seekers with WORC’s employment support services and career opportunities. Partnering with businesses annually, WORC hosts mini-expos where job seekers explore careers, meet potential employers, and learn about employment initiatives such as Ready2Work and Passport2Success.

Approximately 195 Caymanian job seekers attended WORC District Days, mostly young adults. Some registered for the first time, while others updated their information. Denise Myers, Programme Coordinator for WORC District Days, expressed her satisfaction with this year’s event, noting its success in engaging numerous individuals, particularly the youth. “We were able to provide a platform that not only connected job seekers with essential information but also helped remove barriers to employment readiness,” Myers stated.

This year, nine (9) prominent entities partnered with WORC: Cayman Airways, Massive Equipment Rental and Sales Ltd, Public Works Department, National Roads Authority, Health Services Authority, Health City Cayman Islands, Corporate Electric Ltd, Department of Children and Family Services, and Superior Auto. A representative from Corporate Electric Ltd shared, “Being part of WORC District Days was a significant highlight for us, as it provided the opportunity to offer advice, assist others, and gain valuable insights into job seekers' perspectives on the job market. Thank you again for giving Corporate Electric the opportunity to participate.” Superior Auto also reported positive outcomes. “We have enrolled one student, connected with two others, and may gain another. I believe this initiative is a great one as it allows the business sector to reach out to people and give them a real sense of what career opportunities and work environments exist,” a representative stated.

National Roads Authority (NRA) has since informed WORC that they will be onboarding five (5) temporary employees they met through the event – one from each district. “These efforts will give these persons some financial stability, and provide on-the-job training and development across various sectors of the Authority,” shared Shena Ebanks, MHRM at the NRA.

WORC extends its gratitude to all entities and individuals who contributed to the success of 2025 District Days. With growing participation and continued collaboration, the initiative remains a crucial step toward empowering Caymanians in their career journeys.

For Caymanians who were unable to attend any of these events, WORC encourages them to register for employment support services by contacting WORC at worcservices@gov.ky.  Additionally, Caymanians interested in training or development opportunities should contact WORC by calling 945-9672 or emailing worc.training@gov.ky.
