The Cayman Islands Identification Card: My eID is a Government-issued photo ID that proves identity and Cayman immigration status in a single card.

For older residents who may not have multiple documents readily available, this reduces the need to carry paper records and makes it easier to access pensions, banking, healthcare and other services.

Assistance is available at the Cayman Islands Identification Card customer centre for those who need help with the application process.

Private sector organisations will be integrated through secure digital verification and authentication services linked to My eID.

This includes the ability to verify identity, confirm Cayman immigration status where appropriate, and support digital signatures for transactions and compliance processes.

Integration will be done in a phased and secure manner, working with industry groups and regulated entities to ensure systems, privacy protections and legal requirements are properly aligned.

* Guidance on how to use the sharing feature will be published soon.
